Lesson Thirty-five Booking travel tickets


Booking travel tickets in China is simple. You can either get them through the guesthouse or hotel that you're staying at, or directly from airline offices and railway stations. You'll need to fill in a registration form stating the name or names of the persons traveling, number of persons traveling, time of departure, train or flight numbers and terminals.

麥克： 這次旅行你準備去哪？
Mike: Where are you going to this time?
Lì li: wǒ d? suàn xiān qù gu?ng zhōu, zài qù h?i nán d?o.
麗麗： 我打算先去廣州，再去海南島。
Lili: I am going to Guangzhou first, and then to Hainan Island.
mài kè: n? z?n me qù? Zuò huǒ chē hái shì zuò fēi jī?
麥克： 你怎么去？坐火車還是坐飛機？
Mike: How are you getting there, by train or by airplane?
Lì li: zuò huǒ chē. Wo d?i yù dìng huǒ chē piào.
麗麗： 坐火車。我得預訂火車票。
Lili: By train, and I had to book my ticket in advance.
mài kè: n? yù dìng tè kuài hái shì zhí kuài? yìng wò hái shi ru?n wò?
麥克： 你預訂特快還是直快？硬臥還是軟臥？
Mike: Did you make a booking for the express train or through train? A hard berth or soft one?
Lì li: yù dìng tè kuài ru?n wò.
麗麗： 預訂特快軟臥。
Lili: The express train and soft berth.
mài kè: shén me shí hòu k? y? qǔ piào?
麥克： 什么時候可以取票？
Mike: When can you collect your ticket?
Lì li: tí qián li?ng tiān huò sān tiān.
麗麗： 提前兩天或三天。
Lili: Two or three days before I'm scheduled to leave.
mài kè: zhù n? lǚ tú yú kuài!
麥克： 祝你旅途愉快！
Mike: Have a nice trip!
Lì li: xiè xie! Wǒ huì g?i n? dài l? wù huí lái.
麗麗： 謝謝！我會給你帶禮物回來。
Lili: Thanks! I'll bring gifts for you.
旅行 lǚ xíng： trip 準備 zhǔn bèi：to prepare (for)
火車 huǒ chē： train 飛機 fēi jī：airplane
預定 yù dìng：to book (in advance) 車票 chē piào：ticket
特快 tè kuài：express train 直快 zhí kuài：through train
硬臥 yìng wò： hard berth 軟臥 ru?n wò：soft berth
提前 tí qián：in advance 旅途 lǚ tú：trip; journey
愉快 yú kuài：happy, nice 禮物 l? wù：gift, present
